The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, founded in 1956, is the pinnacle of medical excellence in India, ranked 6th in the world in the 2026 edition of the Brand Finance Global Hospital Rankings. It is an Institute of National Importance, functioning under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and is a massive ecosystem with a medical college, research, and specialized centers such as the Dr. R.P. Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, JPN Apex Trauma Centre, and the National Cancer Institute, Jhajjar Campus. In the year 2026, AIIMS Delhi maintains its leadership in the medical innovation sphere by recently launching its Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence to enable better diagnostics.
