Nahan, Himachal Pradesh
|Government|Established 2016Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar Government Medical College (YSPGMC), Nahan is a co-educational public medical college founded in 2016, with its namesake being the first chief minister of Himachal Pradesh-Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar. Founded upon an upgrade of the existing Regional Hospital, Nahan, under the state's flagship modernization project, the college stands fully approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and is actively affiliated with the Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU), Mandi (formerly with Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla). The institute permits an annual intake of 120 students for the MBBS residency program, along with multiple specializations for post-graduate (MD/MS) courses in medicine. Admission is based purely on a NEET-UG ranking with an 85% State Quota counselled by AMRU and a 15% All India Quota by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Since it is subsidized by the state government as a public asset, it provides quality and cost-effective professional training at the prescribed state fees (approx. 60,000 per annum for the duration of the state quota residency). Combining focused class work and intensive residency cycles, the YSPGMC serves the public at large in the Sirmaur district and the wider hill regions.

Modern academic buildings with lecture halls, demonstration spaces, and departmental labs for pre-clinical, paraclinical, and clinical subjects make up the YSPGMC, Nahan campus. Academic learning is aided by a central library containing medical texts and publications. There are separate dorms for boys and girls, yet some people would rather live off campus because of capacity restrictions. The connected Dr. Y.S. Parmar Government Medical College Hospital is a multispecialty tertiary care facility that provides emergency care, OPD/IPD services, surgery, diagnostics, and other clinical care around-the-clock. The goal of ongoing development is to progressively enhance facilities and infrastructure.
