|Government|Established 2017Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College (KCGMC), which was established in 2017, is one of the most renowned government-run medical colleges situated in Karnal, Haryana. It has been named after Kalpana Chawla, an eminent astronaut of Indian-American descent, and is managed by the Government of Haryana. Further, the college is affiliated with Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak. The institute is accredited by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and provides 120 MBBS admissions along with a number of MD, MS, and allied health courses. The college provides facilities for clinical training at its fully functional 550+ bed teaching hospital, thus catering to the healthcare needs of people residing within and around the city of Karnal. The institute also provides world-class academic facilities such as spacious lecture halls, modern laboratories for both pre-clinical and para-clinical subjects, and well-stocked libraries. Admission into the MBBS course is purely on a merit basis based on performance in the NEET-UG entrance test, and admission is done via AIQ & Haryana State Quota counselling.
