Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College & Hospital, established in 2013 in Kumarhatti-Solan, Himachal Pradesh, is the state's first self-financing medical college. The college is affiliated with Maharishi Markandeshwar University, offering an MBBS program with 150 seats-the maximum in the state. The college has a super-specialty hospital having 720 beds, well equipped with the best infrastructure and ultra-modern equipment. In 2018, the institution received certification from the Medical Council of India and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The institution runs postgraduate programs (MD/MS) through 20 medical and non-clinical specialty courses and, in addition offers M.Sc. programs in the areas of anatomy, pharmacology, physiology, biochemistry, and microbiology.
