07 What Do you need to know about Admission to MBBS Under NRI Quota?

In order to obtain a seat in MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) through NRI quota in Haryana, follow these steps to secure admission to MBBS under NRI quota:

1) Pass NEET UG 2025

Your first requirement is to register for and take the NEET UG 2025 exam. You must also get the minimum passing score from the National Medical Commission (NMC).

While NRI students must take and pass the NEET exam, a high score on NEET will greatly increase the chance of getting into a good medical school than low scoring NRI students.

2) Register for Haryana State Counselling

Once your NEET results become available, go to the DMER Haryana (Directorate of Medical Education and Research) official website and complete your registration process. This includes filling out your basic information about yourself and your NEET score and submitting all required documents. Very Important: Be sure to indicate on your registration form that you want to be considered for seats reserved for NRI Quota.

3) Document Confirmation

Once you register, you will receive an invitation to attend a physical document confirmation session at one of the approved locations. You must bring original copies of the following documentation:

  • NEET UG 2025 scorecard
  • Your passport or the passport of your NRI sponsor
  • Proof of your relationship with the NRI sponsor, such as: a birth certificate, legal affidavit, etc.
  • Your 10 + 2 academic certification, including a marksheet and certificate of completion.
  • An Embassy Certificate or equivalent documentation supporting your NRI status.
  • Please ensure that all documents are accurate and complete, as errors or omissions may result in either disqualification or a delay in processing your application.

4) Seat Allocation NRI Quota

After documentation validation, you will be eligible for allocation of seats in accordance with the NRI quota of the respective state (Haryana). The allocation of seats is subject to the NEET ranking, availability of seats, and your preference of choices filled.Upon being allocated a seat, you will need to download your allotment letter, and commence preparations for subsequent phases.

5) Final Admission and Tuition Payment

You must report in person to the assigned Medical College in Haryana within the specified time frame to complete the admission requirements. This will entail submitting the requisite documentation and paying the higher amount of the NRI Tuition Fees compared to the General Category Tuition Fees.

Once you complete all of these processes, you will officially be registered as an MBBS student from Haryana in accordance with the NRI Quota. Congrats!
