What Is Uttar Pradesh NEET UG Counselling 2026?

Uttar Pradesh NEET UG Counselling 2026 is the centralized admission process through which MBBS and BDS seats are allotted in government and private medical colleges across Uttar Pradesh. Admissions are conducted strictly on the basis of NEET UG 2026 scores.

Through this process, students can secure admission in government medical colleges, private medical colleges, government quota seats in private colleges, management quota seats, and NRI quota seats.

Additionally, 15% of MBBS seats in government medical colleges fall under the All India Quota (AIQ) and are filled through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

Uttar Pradesh is one of the largest medical education hubs in India, offering thousands of MBBS seats across government and private medical institutions.

  • Candidates who wish to upgrade their college/seat that was allocated in the first round may also take part in this round.

Mop up round:

  • In online mode and based on the remaining number of seat stalls from the first and second round of admissions; the Mop Up Round of admissions will also be conducted.
  • All eligible applicants for the Mop Up Round must register again; there is a non-refundable registration fee of ₹1000.
  • Only applicants who have not had an opportunity to be accepted into a school from either round of admissions, or who did not choose to accept a seat, can register to participate.
  • This section provides the remaining available seats for both public and private medical colleges after rounds one and two.
  • Choice filling has to occur again; the allotment of available seats will take place based upon merit and available seats.

Stray Vacancy Round:

  • The only applicants who can partake in the Stray Vacancy Round are those who have not been given an allocation in any previous round and those who were not admitted through the All India NEET UG counselling process.

12Deemed Colleges Name, Tuition Fees and Total Seats in UP 2026

In Uttar Pradesh, Santosh Medical College & Hospital in Ghaziabad is the only Deemed-to-be University that offers a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). As a result, it is less of a choice compared to other states that have more than one deemed college with many students wishing to attend. Santosh Medical College has roughly 150 MBBS seats for students who wish to study in a deemed university in India.

The fees charged to students for MBBS studies are on the higher end of the scale with annual tuition fees generally between INR 24 -28 Lakhs/Year. Students can only be admitted into Santosh Medical College through the MCC All India Quota – Deemed Universities, which bases admission exclusively on NEET UG rank. The fact that only one Deemed Medical College exists in Uttar Pradesh means that many students with marginal academic performance have to go to other states for admission to MBBS Programmes at Deemed Institutions in India.
